My provider identifier is being rejected

Fix rejected provider IDs by matching Legal person type, ID code, ID type, and ICT provider HQ country, and keep any additional ID fields aligned with the same rule.

What this usually means

The provider row is using an identifier that does not match the combination of Legal person type, ID code, ID type, and ICT provider HQ country.

For legal persons, the register expects a legal-person identifier. For legal persons established in the Union, that means LEI or EUID. For legal persons established outside the Union, that means LEI only. Individuals acting in a business capacity can use another identifier type.

Why this happens

  • Legal person type is wrong for the provider row.

  • ID type does not match the provider’s person type.

  • The provider is a legal person outside the Union, but ID type is not LEI.

  • ID code and ID type do not belong together.

  • The additional ID fields do not follow the same rule as the main ID fields.

What to check and how to fix it

Check Legal person type.

If this provider is a legal person, ID code and ID type must use a legal-person identifier. If Legal person type is wrong, fix that first.

Check ICT provider HQ country.

If the legal person is established in the Union, use LEI or EUID in ID type. If the legal person is established outside the Union, use LEI only.

Check ID code and ID type together.

If ID type shows CRN, VAT, PNR, or NIN for a legal person, replace that pair with the correct legal-person identifier and type.

Check whether this row is really for an individual acting in a business capacity.

If it is, Legal person type must reflect that, and ID type should use one of the non-legal-person choices shown in that field, not LEI or EUID.

Check Additional ID code and Additional ID type.

If you use an additional identifier, those fields should follow the same legal-person or individual rule, and the same EU or non-EU rule, as the main ID fields.

What happens next

After you correct Legal person type, ICT provider HQ country, ID code, and ID type, validate the row again. If the rejection was caused by those fields, the row should no longer fail for the same identifier mismatch.
