Onboarding

A short guided tour that points you to each core section of Copla Registry, in order, the first time you log in.

Covered in this page

  • What it is

  • Before you start: import or start fresh

  • The five steps

  • Exiting onboarding

  • Reopening onboarding

What it is

Onboarding opens automatically the first time you log in. It walks through five steps, each one highlighting a section in the sidebar with a short description of what belongs there.

It does not enter or save any data on your behalf — it only shows you where to go and what each section is for.

Before you start: import or start fresh

The first screen asks whether you have a previous Register of Information to import as a .zip.

  • Import a .zip takes you directly to the import screen. → See Importing your current register.
  • Start fresh continues to the five-step tour below.
  • Skip for now closes onboarding without going through either path.

You can always import a register later from the Import menu, regardless of which option you choose here.

The five steps

Step Section What it covers
1 Company Details Your reporting entity's legal identity, group structure, and financial profile. → See Company details.
2 Functions Entering your critical and important functions. Contracts map to functions, so this needs to be complete before you can export. → See Functions.
3 Providers Adding all ICT providers your firm uses, including those procured through a reseller. → See Add/Edit Providers.
4 Contracts Adding each contractual arrangement with a provider — services, functions, risk assessment outcomes, and subcontracting chain. → See Contracts: General Information and Contracts: Specific Information.
5 Exports Generating an xBRL-CSV package for submission, with automatic validation that flags errors or inconsistencies before the file is created.

Onboarding does not cover Branches, Arrangements, or Definitions. Complete these separately — → See Suggested record order for where they fit relative to the steps above.

Exiting onboarding

Closing onboarding partway through — using Skip for now or the X — does not save your place. The next time you open it, it starts again from Step 1.

Reopening onboarding

Open onboarding again anytime from the profile icon in the top right. The menu option appears as Start onboarding if you have not completed it yet, or Restart onboarding if you have.
